About Us
Tobi Linn cultural art dolls are all unique, original designs, and hand crocheted by me, Tobi Linn. I was born and raised in Connecticut, but have always retraced my steps back and forth between my grandparents, aunts, uncles, and hundreds of cousins stretched out between the coal mines and hills of Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, and where I grew up near the shore in Connecticut.
Between my mother Wanda who crocheted beautiful blankets and other items, and my grandmother Carrie who was a professional seamstress, and the rich Irish, Scandinavian, Dutch, and Polish environment that was my childhood in New England by the sea, I was inspired to do this at a young age. I made my first doll when I was ten, later made dolls for my children as toys as well as crocheted hats, mittens and scarves like my mother and grandmother showed me, and eventually began making art dolls in the New England style passed to me by them. .
Each doll is unique, numbered and signed, and
comes with a stand for display. I work with many cultural ideas, and also
do custom-order work. All sizes are approximate.
